Thighplasty Gives Legs a Slimmer and More Attractive Appearance

Cellulite is a very common issue. Every woman starts to notice the development of thigh cellulite at some point in her life. Cellulite can be removed, but this often quite difficult. Age, sudden weight loss, childbirth, and other circumstances make it harder to get rid of that bothersome cellulite.

In addition to cellulite, the thighs may start to sag. This is primarily due to the presence of excess loose skin, resulting in an appearance that can make you feel uncomfortable with your body. A sudden loss of weight can also cause the skin to droop and leaves behind pockets of stubborn fat. The loss of skin elasticity is also a contributing factor in sagging thighs.

Your thighs are a part of your body that can be seen when you wear shorts or a swimsuit. Sagging thighs make it hard to wear these without feeling self-conscious. The older you get, the harder it becomes to restore your youthful contours through diet and exercise alone. Luckily, there is a solution: thighplasty surgery.

Thighplasty Surgery

A thighplasty is a relatively simple procedure that can be used to reshape and tone the thighs. It is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The surgeon is likely to mark the thighs before the surgery, while you are standing, in order to plan out incision locations.

Depending on the area of your thigh that must be reshaped, your surgeon can recommend one of three different kinds of thighplasty. The first is the inner thigh lift, where the surgeon performs the surgery on the inner thighs.

The second is the bilateral thigh lift, where the surgeon tightens your skin along the front and outside of the legs. Here, the surgeon will make an incision along the area near the lower edge of your underwear. Excess skin is then removed, and the remaining skin is pulled up in an effort to tighten the skin.

The medial thigh lift is a third option that may be considered. Here, not only is the skin tightened, excess fat on the upper part of the thigh is also removed. The incision made travels from the groin region and towards the base of the buttocks.

Once the procedure is complete, the incisions are sutured shut using medical stitches. The surgery takes roughly two hours to perform, after which you will be informed about your follow-up routine.

You will return home to rest and recover following the procedure. The recovery process will involve wearing a post-surgical elastic garment in order to help the redraped skin conform to the recontoured area. This will also reduce the amount of post-surgical bruising and swelling in the region. It will be vital that you avoid physically taxing activities for a time.
