Radiesse Fills Deep Age Lines

Radiesse Fills Deep Age Lines

As you get older, deep age lines appear on your face in many locations, including around the sides of your mouth. The primary causes of these lines are sun exposure, decreased elasticity due to a decline in collagen production, dehydrated skin, genetics, and smoking.

These deep folds can make you look older than you are. Luckily, there’s a dermal filler called Radiesse that can restore the volume of your skin and smooth away deep wrinkles. We are happy to provide this to our Inland Empire patients.

What Is Radiesse?

Radiesse is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and deep-set lines. It is used to fill deep wrinkles and lines around the nose and mouth. It also volumizes hollow areas of the face such as the cheeks and jawline.

Radiesse consists of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel formula. It is known for its ability to stimulate your body’s natural collagen, and it lasts longer than many other dermal fillers.

Who Is an Ideal Candidate for Radiesse Treatment?

Radiesse candidates are generally between the ages of 35 and 60. They experience moderate to severe facial aging. Radiesse treatments show results on all skin types and skin colors. They are ideal for people who want to add significant volume to their face, smooth out deeper lines and folds, and plump up the areas that have moderate-to-deep skin depressions from fat loss.

How Does Radiesse Work?

Radiesse works in two specific ways. In the first three months, Radiesse injections act as a cosmetic filler, plumping up the skin to diminish the appearance of deep and fine facial lines.

Then the microspheres stimulate collagen production and encourage the growth of new tissue in and around the injection area. As time passes, your body absorbs the gel carrier. Collagen continues to grow and replaces the gel with your own natural tissue.

What Is the Radiesse Procedure Like?

You will begin with a consultation at our Inland Empire office, where you can discuss your goals for treatment. Dr. Bennett will determine the best way to treat the needs of your skin. You will be able to look at before-and-after photos of past patients and can ask any questions you may have.

During the treatment session, a local or topical anesthetic will be applied to eliminate potential discomfort. Radiesse is quite painless due to the numbing ingredient mixed into the filler itself. The treatment takes approximately 15 minutes. A short series of small injections is administered into the skin.

In the end, ice is applied to the treated area immediately to avoid mild swelling or bruising. You can expect results from the Radiesse treatment immediately. Those deep lines are reduced and experience further reduction over time as new collagen continues to grow.
