Breast Reduction
Breast reduction also known as reduction mammoplasty, provides relief for women by reducing back, neck, bra strap and shoulder pain. Reduction in breast volume can also improve a woman’s ability to find clothing and bras that fit more appropriately. Other benefits include improved appearance of the breast, reduced areola size, and more youthfully positioned nipples.
The most common incision for breast reduction is the lollipop or anchor incision since a significant amount of excess skin and tissue need to be removed. A scar is necessary in exchange for new sculpted shape and volume reduction. Dr. Bennett will do everything possible to minimize the length and visibility of the scar. By reducing the neck and back strain and lifting the breasts, patients find they have less rashes and it is easier to exercise after surgery.
Depending upon the extent of the procedure, Dr. Bennett may remove excess fat from the side of the breast and in under the armpit with liposuction. The breast tissue will be reshaped and repositioned with the use of sutures to help maintain positioning of the reduced breasts.
