Asclera

Asclera® is an injection that disrupts the interior wall of spider veins or varicose veins, causing it to close. When the vein closes, it prevents blood flow through it and eliminates the swelling, discomfort, and appearance of the vein. Spider veins or varicose veins are not medically harmful but can be unsightly and uncomfortable. Treatment may help to minimize pain, discomfort, and embarrassment associated with the small veins. Asclera® involves an injection into the vein. You may experience mild discomfort during the injections. Each treatment lasts 30 to 60 minutes and most patients require several treatments to achieve maximum results. Side effects are minimal and can include itchiness, mild bruising, and redness near the injection site. After treatment, you will need to compress the treated area for several days but can return to normal activities almost immediately. You should avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure, hot tubs, or plane flights for several days after treatment.
